US inflation rose to a three year high in March, but three years ago, US inflation was still very low.
US inflation leapt like a pig in March and now sits at the lofty height of 2.6 per cent, the highest level since August 2018, when hardly anyone was worrying about inflation. No wonder people are warning of hyperinflation; there is literally no difference between the current level of US inflation today and the bad days of the Weimar Republic. Admittedly, it is quite a few nothings, since inflation peaked at over 25,000 per cent in the Weimar Republic, a difference of four nothings or zeros with the current level.
